An experimental and theoretical correlation of inhibition effect of some dihydropyridine on mild steel in 1 M HCL

The corrosion inhibition of mild steel in 1 M HCl solution by some dihydropyridine has been studied using gravimetric, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization techniques and quantum chemical study. results weight loss Tafel measurements showed that among the compounds, Isradipine good inhibiting properties for acidic bath, with 98% efficiency at optimum concentration 400 ppm. is a mixed anodic–cathodic nature. adsorption behaviour investigated compounds found to obey Langmuir isotherm. Quantum parameters were correlated experimental results.
